Myanmar CI center visit checklist (Thailand) — 5 provinces, docs & booking

Myanmar CI centers in 5 Thai provinces — visit checklist, docs & booking. Confirm fee/address; link e-WorkPermit + 90-day.

A Certificate of Identity (CI) is a travel / identity booklet some Myanmar workers in Thailand use when they do not yet have a passport. CI service centers in Thailand are run with Myanmar labour officials for eligible workers. This page is a practical visit checklist — not legal advice and not a politics article. Windows, fees, addresses, and booking rules change; always reconfirm with the Provincial Employment Office, DOE hotline 1506 (press 2), or the live announcement before you travel or pay anyone.

Who this checklist is for (high level)

  • Myanmar workers in Thailand who still need a CI (or similar travel document) for work-permit / visa steps in the current Cabinet renewal window
  • Especially workers aiming to renew via e-WorkPermit by 11 Dec 2026 who do not yet have a passport / substitute document (as summarized in public guides of the Oct 2026 reopen)
  • If you already hold a valid CI or passport, ask HR whether you still need a center visit at all

Pair this with:

You can often file e-WorkPermit renewal first and attach a travel document later — do not miss the renewal deadline while waiting for a CI queue. Confirm that rule on the live DOE / e-WorkPermit system.

Five provinces named for the Oct 2026 CI center round

Public summaries of Department of Employment letter No. 0316.5/15536 (5 Oct 2026) say Myanmar CI centers were scheduled to reopen from 10 Oct 2026 in these five provinces:

Province Note from public summaries
Samut Sakhon Named in the Oct 2026 reopen letter summaries
Samut Prakan Named in the Oct 2026 reopen letter summaries
Surat Thani Named in the Oct 2026 reopen letter summaries
Chiang Mai Named in the Oct 2026 reopen letter summaries
Chonburi Named in the Oct 2026 reopen letter summaries (often described as a mobile unit in earlier rounds)

Confirm before you go: the letter summarized publicly names provinces only — it does not lock street addresses, daily hours, closing date, or booking method for this round. Call the Provincial Employment Office for where you live, or DOE 1506 (press 2), the morning you plan to travel.

Older public DOE / PRD notices from earlier CI rounds listed example venues (e.g. Phan Thong / Chonburi, Tha Sala / Chiang Mai, Pak Nam / Ranong, Phra Pradaeng / Samut Prakan, Tha Sai / Samut Sakhon). Treat those as historical location examples only — confirm on the official page / office for the current round (province list above is what Oct 2026 summaries name; Ranong is not in that five-province reopen list).

Booking & fee — confirm this round (do not invent)

Item What public sources say What you should do
This round’s fee Oct 2026 DOE letter summaries reviewed by public guides say the fee for this round was not stated in that letter Confirm with Provincial Employment Office / 1506 before you pay
Earlier rounds (example only) Myanmar Labour Dept. / GNLM reporting on prior windows described paying 2,670 THB at 7-Eleven / Counter Service, then choosing a center + date and bringing the receipt Use only if the current announcement still says so — otherwise ignore old chat screenshots
Earlier registration fee example Some older Thai PR notices mentioned a smaller Counter Service registration amount (e.g. 310 THB) for queue booking in past years Historical only — confirm current process
Agents Past Labour Dept. guidance urged workers to pay / book themselves and avoid unnecessary agent mark-ups Prefer employer HR or self-booking on the official channel; do not pay strangers “CI slot fees” on Facebook / LINE

If a stranger quotes a fee or address that you cannot match to DOE / Provincial Employment Office guidance, stop and call 1506.

Documents — prepare, then confirm the live list

Exact packs depend on your case and the current Myanmar / Thai checklist at the center. Common items called out in older DOE sample lists (Singburi employment-office public notice of Myanmar-side requirements — treat as orientation):

  1. Thai non-Thai national ID (pink card) if you hold one
  2. Payment / booking slip from the official channel used for this round
  3. Myanmar-side application form (as issued for the current window)
  4. Copies of Myanmar ID and household registration, if available

Bring originals + copies. Ask HR what they already filed. Do not invent missing papers — if unsure, mark the item “confirm on official page / at 1506” before you travel.

Visit-day checklist (practical)

  1. Confirm the center is open today for your province (10 Oct 2026 was a schedule, not a forever guarantee).
  2. Bring passport / CI / pink card / work-permit evidence you already have, plus booking receipt if required.
  3. Go with employer HR if they arrange transport — keep your own copies of every slip.
  4. After you receive the CI: photograph every page; ask HR how it attaches to e-WorkPermit and the later visa stamp timeline (public guides often mention visa steps running into 2027 — confirm dates on Immigration / DOE channels).
  5. Keep CI separate from your 90-day / TM.30 duties — those are different Immigration steps: see the 90-day + TM.30 checklist.

What MMKHub will not guess

We will not invent this round’s exact street address, closing date, or fee. Prefer:

  • Provincial Employment Office / DOE 1506 (press 2)
  • Your employer HR / licensed labour company
  • Primary DOE announcements when published

Public orientation summary used while drafting (re-check before you act): Exworker — Myanmar CI centers reopen 10 Oct 2026 in 5 provinces (summarizes DOE letter 0316.5/15536). Older fee/booking colour from GNLM prior-window reporting.

Disclaimer: Info only. MMKHub is not a law firm, immigration agency, DOE office, or recruitment agency. We do not sell CI appointments. Rules and fees change — confirm on official Thai / Myanmar labour channels and with your employer before you pay or travel.
